Fritz-john and Kuhn-tucker Conditions in Non-linear Programming
In this paper we give necessary optimality conditions of Fritz-John and Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions for non-linear infinite dimensional programming problem with operatorial constraints. We use an alternative theorem. Some of the known results in finite dimensional case have been extended to infinite dimensional case with suitable conditions.
متن کاملKuhn-Tucker-based stability conditions for systems with saturation
This note presents a new approach to deriving stability conditions for continuous-time linear systems interconnected with a saturation. The method presented here can be extended to handle a deadzone, or in general, nonlinearities in the form of piecewise linear functions. By representing the saturation as a constrained optimization problem, the necessary (Kuhn–Tucker) conditions for optimality ...
متن کاملThe Kuhn-Tucker and Envelope Theorems
The Kuhn-Tucker and envelope theorems can be used to characterize the solution to a wide range of constrained optimization problems: static or dynamic, under perfect foresight or featuring randomness and uncertainty. In addition, these same two results provide foundations for the work on the maximum principle and dynamic programming that we will do later on. For both of these reasons, the Kuhn-...
متن کاملStudying Maximum Information Leakage Using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker Conditions
When studying the information leakage in programs or protocols, a natural question arises: “what is the worst case scenario?”. This problem of identifying the maximal leakage can be seen as a channel capacity problem in the information theoretical sense. In this paper, by combining two powerful theories: Information Theory and Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions, we demonstrate a very general solutio...
متن کاملConstrained estimation and the theorem of Kuhn-Tucker
There are many statistical problems in which the parameter of interest is restricted to a subset of the parameter space. The constraint(s) may reflect prior knowledge about the value of the parameter, or, may be a device used to improve the statistical properties of the estimator. Estimation and inferential procedures for such models may be derived using the theorem of Kuhn-Tucker (KT). The the...
